| June 2010 |
On June 5th 2010 Melissa got the Encouragement Prize of Culture of the City Zaanstad (2010). The jury of Zaanstad wrote that Melissa was much more than a new talent and that her CV was much more impressing than most adult musicians. In addition, the report said that Melissa is active internationally and she regularly in Zaanstad area lets enjoy people with her trumpet. "Melissa's artistic development is called turbulent and there is every reason to believe that the end is nowhere in sight."

On March 20, 2010 Melissa has on the Chicago International Brass Festival achieved the third prize with an honorable mention. On the scale of one to ten Melissa pulled a nine. The jury praised her musicality and tonal purity. The first prize was taken by a Japanese man with tuba and second prize by the American with a trombone. Melissa was the first of the trumpeters. She was with 14 years the youngest participant. The others were over twenty.

On the 8th of November 2008 at the S.J.M.N. (Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland) Melissa won the second prize of the national concours in "de Doelen" in Rotterdam. Melissa was commended higly for her beautiful interpretation of 2 classical works.

On Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the SJMN (Foundation for Young Music Talent Netherlands) Melissa achieved the first prize with a "thick" 9. Melissa was praised by the jury at her fabulous technique and beautiful tone.

On Sunday, February 17, 2008 Melissa has won the Princess Christina Concours incentive. The award was presented by the Commissioner of the Queen of North Holland. The ceremony took place at the Philharmonie in Haarlem.

| April 2007 |
On Sunday, April 1, 2007 Melissa has achieve 89 points (on the scale of 100) and the first prize in the Youth Division of the HaFaBra-competition for North and South Holland, which was held in South Holland Aarlanderveen. In addition they also came out with the adults over 21 years and there she was third.

In June 2006 Melissa played in the WMC (World Music Contest) in Kerkrade. In the overall standings, she was sixth of the brass and she won the third place.

In November 2005 Melissa got 2 prizes with her trumpet playing, including "the Carla Leur" price. There she got the first prize in her age category. Carla Leurs praised her for her warm tone and she found her rendition of "In The Hall Of The Mountain King" from Grieg's very beautiful.

In October 2005 Melissa got the first prize in a tour of the Students Noord Holland province. Although the participation was from 12 years old, Melissa was allowed to give her performance at her age of 10. During the finale of the Tour for Students North Holland, she was accompanied by renowned pianist Jan Vayne. |
